2. Backyard Ultra — Questions

How does the Bali Backyard Ultra format work?

The event consists of 24 loops of 6.7 km (each loop length confirmed on the Backyard Ultra page), completed over Saturday. Runners must start each next loop on the hour.

Do I need to complete all 24 loops?

No. You are free to set your own personal challenge: 5 loops, 10 loops, 15 loops, 20 loops, or the full 24 loops. Everyone’s achievement is celebrated.

What happens if only ONE runner completes the 24 loops?

That runner is immediately crowned the winner and receives the Winner Trophy.

What happens if MULTIPLE runners complete 24 loops?

Those runners enter a Final Decider Loop on Sunday. The fastest runner on this loop becomes the ovall winner.

What do I get if I participate?

All participants receive an official certificate signed with their total number of loops and distance covered.

Runners who complete all 24 loops receive a 24-Loop Finisher T-Shirt.

The overall winner receives the Bali Backyard Ultra Winner Trophy.

What is the cut-off for each loop?

You must finish your loop within one hour to start the next. If you fail to start the next loop on time, your race ends and your final loop count is recorded.

Can I run, walk, or mix both?

Yes. Any pace is allowed as long as you start each loop on time.

Can I use headphones?

Yes, but keep volume low for safety and awareness of officials and other participants.

Is there support crew access?

Yes. Support crews can assist runners between loops only, inside the designated aid/crew area.

What gear do I need?

There is no mandatory gear, but we recommend a hydration vest or bottles, headlamp for early/late hours, weather-appropriate clothing, and nutrition (electrolytes/energy snacks).

What happens if I choose to stop?

Inform event officials when you withdraw. Your final number of loops will be recorded for your official certificate.
