Overview
The Bali Backyard Ultra is an endurance running event based on the Backyard Ultra format. Runners must complete a fixed-distance loop every hour, on the hour. The event is capped at 24 hours with an additional final deciding loop to determine the overall winner.
Event Format
- Loop distance: 6.7 km
- Start time: Saturday 28 March, 6:00 AM
- Loop start: Every hour, on the hour
- Maximum loops: 24 loops (24 hours)
How the Backyard Ultra Works
Loop Start
Each loop starts exactly at the top of the hour. Runners must be present in the start corral before the bell. Late starts are not permitted.
Loop Completion
Runners must complete the full 6.7 km loop within 60 minutes. Any runner who does not complete the loop within the hour is eliminated (DNF).
Elimination (DNF)
- Failing to start a loop on time
- Failing to complete a loop within the hour
Runners may voluntarily withdraw at any time. Each successfully completed loop counts as an official result.
Aid, Support & Course Rules
- Support, rest, and nutrition are allowed only in the start/finish area.
- No pacing or assistance is allowed while a loop is in progress.
- The course remains the same for all loops.
- Runners must follow the marked course at all times.
Night running equipment (headlamp, reflective gear) is strongly recommended. Safety remains the responsibility of each participant.
Backyard Finishers
Runners who successfully complete all 24 loops within the time limits are considered official Backyard Finishers.
Results & Recognition
- All participants receive an official result based on completed loops.
- 24-loop finishers receive a special finisher award, and other prizes that will be unveiled soon.
Related Events
The Sunday Fun Run is a separate event and will start at 7:30 AM. It does not affect the Backyard Ultra results or podium.
